Workplaces often encourage employee fundraising as it is a great way to boost morale and encourage teamwork.

Whether asking colleagues to sponsor you in a run, holding a dress down day or a coffee morning or running an office competition, there are plenty of ways to fundraise at work.  The Foundation is happy to provide promotional materials for your fundraising event.

Matched Giving

To support their employees, many businesses may also run a scheme called “Matched Giving.” This means that for every pound an employee raises, the employer will also donate a pound. Depending on your company’s policy, your employer may match the whole donation or contribute a certain amount.  Employers might also be willing to match the donations you make through payroll giving.

Ask your employer if there is a “Matched Giving” scheme in place – if not, don’t be afraid to ask if the company is willing to match what you have raised. Who knows – your suggestion may influence your employer to set up its own matched giving program.

Corporate Giving and Charity of the Year Programmes

Often companies will only make a contribution to a charity if the charity is nominated by an employee. For the most part, this means that the employee must take the first step: either by putting the PBC Foundation’s name forward to the corporate Charity Committee, or by obtaining an application form to pass along to the Foundation.

The company might also run a Charity of the Year programme, in which employees nominate a charity to benefit from employee fundraising activities taking place throughout the year.

If you would like to nominate the PBC Foundation for a corporate donation, or as a Charity of the Year, we are ready, eager and willing to complete the necessary forms, provide supporting materials, and make presentations to committees.
