International PBC Day - Sunday 12th September 2021

Launch of PBC TV

International PBC Day 2020 saw us live stream presentations and Q&As from around the world in a 24-hour PBC Marathon, we received amazing feedback and the videos continue to be viewed 12 months on.

This year, we are delighted to announce the launch of ‘PBC TV’; a designated library of PBC related video content created especially for those living with PBC. We will be releasing the first of our bite-sized videos on PBC Day itself (12th September 2021) through our YouTube channel.

PBC video series

These bite-sized videos (each under 15 minutes) will cover a wide range of PBC topics and are presented by our immensely knowledgeable and well-respected international list of special guests. The videos will be divided into three sections:

This is PBC - A series of introductions to PBC with slides in English and the voiceover in a range of languages. As more doctors become involved, we shall be adding to the series.

PBC and … - These videos include PBC and Itch, PBC and Pregnancy, PBC and Treatments, PBC and Urso response, and PBC and Liver Biopsy.

PBC in my Locale - We hope to show you best practice in your locale (be this your country, region, or state) so that you're empowered to experience this best practice in your own PBC journey.

Get involved

Leading up to the big day we will be sharing updates on our social media channels, please give us a follow @PBCFoundation on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, and subscribe to YouTube ready for the release of the videos on the 12th September 2021.

We are encouraging members to use the hashtag #PBCday2021, please share our posts to help raise awareness of PBC and to educate the general public about living with PBC. Together we really can make a difference!

There may be also live events you want to attend. Keep an eye on our social media channels and our website to see if there is anything in your area. We are all living under different Covid-19 situations, and each have to make our own choices based on where we live and how the Covid situation looks.

Fundraising ideas

During the last 18 months many fundraising events have had to be cancelled or postponed. With restrictions now easing we wanted to share some fundraising inspiration, they can be all be done socially distanced and allow the opportunity to practice your ‘movement is medicine’. Why don't you get involved with:

  • Walking or running (lapse of the garden, street or further afield)
  • Cycling challenge
  • Garden Olympics; fun garden goals including hopping, skipping or jumping on a trampoline,
  • Virtual team / group competitions (we suggest £5 to enter)

For more ideas, please see our Fundraising page. If you're unable to organise an activity please donate here.

Don't forget to share your PBC Day 2021 fundraising pictures to our social media channels, or email the office. We'd love to see how you get involved.
