OACS-1 Trial led by Professor David Jones OBE

Are you interested in taking part in a medical research trial?

We are delighted to share details of a new trial, "Obeticholic Acid for the Amelioration of Cognitive Symptoms trial - 1" designed to find out whether taking a drug known as Obeticholic Acid has any impact on the symptoms of poor memory, concentration or fatigue in patients with PBC.

This UK based trial will look into improving cognitive symptoms in those with PBC. Often referred to as "brain fog", the symptom is recognised as having a significant impact on patients' quality of life and is currently without an effective therapy.

Newcastle upon Tyne NHS Foundation Trust are now recruiting for "OACS-1". If you have PBC and would like to find out more about this trial please contact Kath Houghton (0191 22 31568 or kathryn.houghton1@nhs.net) or Aaron Wetten (aaron.wetten@nhs.net), or download the trial poster here: OACS-1 Poster
