Belly dancing in the Black Country

Belly dancing in the Black Country

New Year; a time of resolutions to be more active, to take up a new form of activity to improve health and lose a few festively induced pounds. While many people pound the pavements on bleak winter days to get their dose of exercise, there are more exotic, indoor, options available.  On the 18th June 2016  ( starting at 1pm) Cherry Tree Court will be host to an afternoon of fun filled activities. Chief among these will be belly dancing, with a demonstration and opportunity to learn a few moves yourself. Refreshments will be available and there will also be an opportunity to win prizes in a raffle, the proceeds of which will go to the PBC Foundation.

The PBC Foundation is the only UK organisation exclusively dedicated to providing support and information to those affected by Primary Biliary Cholangitis, an autoimmune liver condition with no known cause or cure. It was established in response to the lack of information or support available to sufferers of the disease. Further to this, the Foundation aims to raise awareness of the disease generally as an estimated 8000 people in the UK are currently not diagnosed.

We believe in a positive approach, helping those with PBC to regain control of their own health and lives. One of the ways in which they can do this is by undertaking 30 minutes of activity per day, whether in one block of 30 minutes or three blocks of ten and so on. The Foundation call this approach “Movement as Medicine” and what better way to move than by belly dancing on a Saturday in late February?
